Important Events[]
- The Fuurin-Oobi Combined Team practice match against Kaido Unified ends in a draw. As Akutsu leaves, he tells Toshiya the team they just faced was composed of only the newly recruited first-years.
- The Combined Team players are also shown to be aware of the fact that they only faced the first-years during their match.
- On the morning of the second day at the training camp, Michiru practices pitching with her right arm with Daigo. However, Uozumi stops her, saying it's too soon for that, and if she breaks her other arm, she will be unable to play baseball anymore.
- After she is unable to give him an answer on wheter she will stop or not, Uozumi asks Toshiya to help her train to be a pitcher again. Michiru accepts and Toshiya gives her permission to begin training to be a right-handed pitcher.
- The training camp ends.
- As the new year begins, Goro returns home to celebrate with his family.
- Yakushiji tells Toshiya he was exposed by the media and is on the front page of a newspaper.
- The combined team resumes their training, now at Oobi's training grounds. However, Oobi's training ground is suddenly surrounded by reporters.
- As Toshiya talks to Oobi's headmaster, Egashira walks in, and he finds out Egashira was the one who leaked information about the Combined Team to a newspaper.
- Taiga reveals to the combined team that Toshiya was not the only target of the leak, but also Daigo and Michiru.
- Due to Egashira now targetting the kids, and not only him, Toshiya tells Goro he will give up on coaching Fuurin-Oobi.
- The kids, Taiga and Yamaguchi convince Toshiya not to give up on coaching.
- Hikaru finds out about Toshiya and Fuurin's situation through the newspaper.
- Toshiya meets with Egashira and tells him to promote the team to the newspapers even more, surprising Egashira.
- The media coverage has a negative effect on the team's training, since the players cant concentrate. While they train, Hikaru is also shown watching from afar.
- Since Oobi is a public school, the combined team can't practice on saturdays and sundays, so Toshiya starts looking for a place they can use on the weekends.
- While going to a batting center with Mutsuko, Daigo meets Hikaru, who declares war on Fuurin and tells them to meet him at the prefectural tournament.
- By this point, Hikaru stops calling Toshiya his father, and insted says he is his "uncle".
- After four months into Daigo's third year as a middle schooler, the Combined team wins the Middle School Spring Tournament.
