Important Events[]
The Kaido team arrives, commanded by Akutsu
- Everyone from the original Fuurin lineup starts worrying about Daigo having his position taken by Uozumi, including Daigo himself.
- Uozumi reveals to Michiru that Daigo is actually better suitted for the catcher position, since Uozumi's hips are stiff. He says Toshiya told him that an outfielder position would suit him better, as he could use the full extent of his abilities that way.
- Goro talks to Toshiya about Daigo, asking Toshiya for his honest opinion about his son. Toshiya tells him Daigo has grown into a much better catcher, and the people worrying about him losing his position are actually underestimating Daigo.
- However, Toshiya also tells Goro that Daigo isn't aware of his own strength, and is in fact, depressed by Uozumi's entrance and his previous defeat against Hikaru.
- To help Daigo clear his mind of any doubts about himself, and push Fuurin's training even harder, Toshiya organizes a match against the Kaido Unified Junior High team, to be held during their training camp.
- The training camp commences, and the Kaido team arrives at Fuurin. Toshiya announces the match against Kaido, but Daigo and Mutsuko are surprised due to not being included in the starting lineup. Instead, Uozumi is the starting catcher, and Nishina is the starting pitcher.
- After both teams warm up, the practice match between Fuurin and Kaido commences.
