Mutsuko Sakura is Daigo Shigeno's classmate and the heroine of MAJOR 2nd. As of the Fuurin Middle Arc, she and Daigo enrolled in Fuurin Junior High, and she is vice-captain of its baseball club.
Appearance[]
Mutsuko has medium length, black hair with straight bangs. She has green eyes.
Character[]
She has had obvious feelings for Daigo ever since they were children, which is obvious to the Fuurin team, Kaoru, and Izumi. Despite this, she was too shy to call him by his given name despite their closeness until one day at the Shigeno residence, when Daigo and Izumi got into an argument and she realized saying "Shigeno" caused both of them to respond.
Due to her feelings for Daigo, she has an intense jealousy towards Michiru Mayumura, who Daigo calls "Michiru-chan". When they meet again as middle schoolers, she is annoyed that Daigo spends more time than necessary looking at her. When Michiru first showed up for practices for the Combined Team, she could feel Mutsuko held some sort of hostile intensity towards her.
History[]
When practicing at the Shigeno residence, Kaoru Shigeno and Izumi Shigeno note that she likes Daigo romantically, but Izumi points out how dense Daigo is. Kaoru simply responds he is like his father.
During the game against Tsujido Academy, Mutsuko hears Kunamoto call for "Sakaguchi", to which she recognizes from her childhood as Hikaru Sato's surname due to his mother. Seeing Hikaru and Daigo's reaction to him confirms to her that he is indeed Hikaru.
For the Combined Team's first practice game against Kaido Academy, she and Daigo are mortified to find out they are not starting despite being the captain and vice-captain.
