Toshiya's Past is the 31st episode of the MAJOR anime and 5th episode of the 2nd season. It was aired on January 14, 2006.

Summary[]
Goro finally reaches the stadium and, after he shows his new pitching style, Mifune East wins their first match against Hosen. After that, Goro wathces Tomonoura's match alongside Kashimoto, who tells him about what happened to Toshiya. After that Goro remains upset, but after talking to Shimizu, he goes back to normal.
Manga and Anime Differences[]
The first scene of chapter 151, where Muta pitches against Hosen is cut in the anime adaptation. The flashback where Goro explains how he trained in chapter 152 was also cut from the anime. Although none of the scenes from chapters 155 and 156 were cut, all the dialogue was and only the events were shown. The scene where Muta brags about their victory in chapter 157 also plays out different in the anime version. In the manga, the members are all eating fast food in a restaurant, but in the anime they are already at the bus stop.
