Summary[]
Mutsuko joins the Dolphins
Daigo is upset because of Hikaru suddenly moving away. However, after receiving a letter from Hikaru through Toshiya, explaining that he wanted to stay but was forced to move away, Daigo recomposes himself and resumes his training with Toshiya. Following this, Mutsuko tells Daigo how much she wants to play baseball and join the Dolphins, but her parents won't let her. Daigo says that if her resolve is so weak that will give up after someone says she cant do something, then she most certainly shouldn't try that. Mutsuko points out Daigo's hypocrisy, but is encouraged by his words. She convinces her parents to let her join the Dolphins and, three weeks before the Little League tournament begins, she officially joins the Dolphins.
Manga and Anime Differences[]
Mutsuko's storyline in this episode is original to the anime adaptation. In the manga, her parents are actually supportive of her idea of joining the Dolphins, and accept it right away.
