Summary[]
Toshiya's flashback
Daigo continues his training while following Toshiya's advice. Toshiya tells Daigo the story of when he first met Goro, and how their first meeting inspired him to be a catcher. As they continue training, Hikaru arrives at the batting cages with Mutsuko. Daigo finds out about their estranged relationship. According to both Hikaru and Toshiya, this was caused by Hikaru's mother. The day after, Hikaru asks Daigo to catch his pitches to see how much he has progressed until now. On the following saturday, Daigo is then offered a regular position in the Dolphins as a right fielder. Tashiro then tells him that Hikaru moved to another city and left the Dolphins.

Toshiya's flashbacks and Daigo's catch ball scene with Hikaru are original of the anime. Nearly half of the episode is original content.
