Summary[]
Daigo proudly gives up on baseball again due to Hikaru's talent
Tashiro stops the game to teach Hikaru about the strike zone
Contrary to Daigo's thought that Hikaru was playing in the American's Junior league, it was revealed that this was the first time Hikaru played baseball. During the game, it was noted by Tashiro that Hikaru had a wrong grip, and upon teaching him how to correctly hold the bat, Hikaru got his first hit, though he didn't know he needed to run. Later when defending in the 7th inning, the Dolphins managed to play a double play with the participation of Hikaru, who thought baseball was quite "easy", which made Daigo feel even more upset due to his inferiority complex. At offense of the 7th inning, Daigo finally managed to make his first hit. Again, upon Tashiro telling Hikaru what a strike zone is, Hikaru managed to hit the ball again, allowing Dolphin's to score two points. However, due to Daigo tripping himself before reaching to the home base, the Dolphin's only managed to make a tie. The day after, Daigo sees Hikaru and Mutsuko talking about someone that "tripped himself'', Daigo misunderstands that, but after the school, Mutsuko tells him that it was about Hikaru and not him, and also that Hikaru is retiring from the Dolphins. Daigo talks to Hikaru and convinces him not to retire, but his condition is that he wants Daigo to play with him.
