Summary[]
A flashback showing Daigo's first days as a captain is shown. After his upperclassmen robbed a store, Fuurin's coach was forced to step down from his position and expel the robbers, as a form of atonement. As his last decision, he nominated Daigo as the captain. Daigo asks Goro to help him train for his position as a captain and catcher. Goro also teaches him how to train his teammates.
Manga and Anime Differences[]
This episode is an original story focusing on Daigo's first days as Fuurin's captain. Chiyo Fuji also makes a cameo appearance at the end of the episode. She is only introduced in the manga after the first tournament.
