Summary[]
Andy explains why Urabe is leaving the Dolphins. Since he wanted so much to play against the Touto Boys, being subbed for Hikaru to be the starting pitcher is too much. Andy also reveals Urabe's story. Since he was a kid, Urabe was trained by his father to play baseball, but when he joined the Touto Boys, Wataru quickly surpassed Urabe's strenght, even though he didn't have any previous experience playing. That led to Wataru resigning from the Touto Boys and later antagonizing Daigo and Hikaru. Some time after, Andy convinces Urabe to at least help Daigo train. At the Shigeno household, Izumi also helps Daigo with his training and encourages Urabe, saying he is probably the reason the Dolphins got so far with an amateur team. Urabe then gives up on resigning, and everyone continues their preparations for the match.
Manga and Anime Differences[]
The Nanyou players appearance here is original to the anime. They are only introduced in the manga together with Akira Nishina, after Daigo enrolls into Fuurin Middle. Daigo asking Goro's help is also original to the anime.
